On Macs, get help with menus quickly, at any time, using almost any program.

This tip is for Apple computers.

Follow the steps and/or view the video below.

- Hold down this combination of keys:
- Shift, Command, forward-slash.
- The help menu will open up with a flashing cursor in it.
- Type the first few letters of the command you are trying to locate.
- Suggestions will appear below the search field.
- Use your up and down arrow keys to select the one you want.
- Hit Enter to invoke that command.
- That’s it!

I use a handy free utility called CheatSheet (opens in a new window).

When you press and hold the Command key for a while it shows a list of commands in the program you are using.
